Fall Car Care for Your Vehicle: Part II

Fall is finally here to stay, and so is cold weather. Since the weather will only get colder and stormier over the next few months, now is the perfect time for a little fall car care for your vehicle. Take these vital maintenance steps for your vehicle in order to conquer fall weather and stay on the road.

Tires
Check your air pressure regularly. As the temperature outside falls, so does the air pressure in your tires. Also, check the tread and for bulges in your tires. Replace your tires if your tread is worn or you find any bulges in your tires.

Wipers and Lighting
Check the condition of your wiper blades and clean or replace if necessary. Make sure all exterior and interior lights work properly. Replace burned out light bulbs, or re-aim headlights if necessary.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System
Check your heater and defrosters to make sure you are ready to conquer the cold and frosty weather coming up. Also, if your windows fog up, turning on the air conditioning is a quick way to clear up the foggy windows. You can even turn up the thermostat so the air conditioning is warm instead of cold.

Engine Performance
Use fuel cleaner and clean fuel injectors and spark plugs to make sure your engine is working at maximum efficiency.

Emergency Essentials Kit
Keep your ice scraper ready and make sure to keep the following packed in your trunk: snow brush, jumper cables, a flashlight, blankets, bottled water, extra clothes, nonperishable food, first aid kit, and any necessary medication.
